Unplugged: Oper Burg Gars showing “Tosca” – from July 12th

Johannes Wildner does it again: open air opera without electronic amplification, lifts, revolving stages, smoke or mirrors. Nothing but a riveting play, music by a true master, performers who give their – stellar! – best, and a thousand-year-old castle watching over all. This summer, the Babenberger fortress overlooking the scenic town of Gars am Kamp and its millennia of history will see Tosca throw herself off its walls in Puccini’s eponymous opera.

Oscar Marín, who already delivered brilliant performances as Don Carlo in 2015 and Cassio in 2016, is returning to Gars for his role debut as Cavaradossi opposite Lada Kyssy. The première is on July 12th, with eight additional shows through August 4th.
