Having had overwhelming successes with her rôle debuts as Dorabella in “Così fan tutte” and as Hänsel in “Hänsel und Gretel”, Sophie Rennert offers her fans (and herself) a lied recital: Invited by Graham Johnson, she joins him at London’s Wigmore Hall as part of his «Liederspiel» “Mother Clara”, a programme that uses lieder by Schumann and Brahms to colorize a dialogue between Clara Schumann and her estranged daughter Eugenie as the latter visits her mother on her deathbed.
Soon afterwards she travels to Munich where she sings the part of the Second Lady in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”.
