Last December, Covid-19 gave us a short reprieve, and the Theater Chemnitz made good use of those days to show Mozart’s “The abduction from the Seraglio”;Philipp Kapeller stepped in as Belmonte and his performance was enthusiastically received by the audience.
This month Mr. Kapeller sings a part in another Mozart opera, mounting the stage at the Staatstheater Hannover as Basilio in “Le nozze di Figaro”; Giulio Cilona conducts a production staged by Lydia Steier.
