They share their passion for performing music, they both embody excellence in acting and singing, and currently they both call the same stage their home: soprano Ilia Staple and tenor Maximilian Mayer are both members of the ensemble at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich. The nearby Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra has invited them to sing highlights from Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story” as part of their New Year’s concert.
In January, Maximilian Mayer also performs at the Gärtnerplatztheater, as Tamino in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”, and Ilia Staple will be on that same stage a few days later for her role debut as Olympia in “The tales of Hoffmann” by Jacques Offenbach.
