Three years ago, Ilia Staple made her debut as Adele at the Vienna State Opera – at that time as a stand-in, at the very last minute. She is now in her second year as a member of the ensemble and will once again delight audiences on New Year’s Eve with her crystal-clear coloratura soprano when she is on stage as the cheeky Adele in Otto Schenk’s now cult production of Johann Strauss’s operetta Die Fledermaus.
