At the Gärtnerplatztheater, Sophie Rennert and Ilia Staple in “Les contes d’Hoffmann”

The 2022/23 season at Munich’s Gärtnerplatztheater is loaded with rôle debuts for Sophie Rennert; on top of Hänsel in “Hänsel und Gretel” and Charlotte (“Werther”), Ms. Rennert is preparing to mount the stage as Niclausse in Offenbach’s “Les contes d’Hoffmann”, with Ilia Staple joining her as Olympia. The production, staged by Stefano Poda for the 200th anniversary of E. T. A. Hoffmann.
