In May, baritone Wolfgang Stefan Schwaiger alternates between the roles of Ping and the Mandarin in the revival of Puccini’s Turandot at the Cologne Opera, in Lydia Steier’s production—spectacular and full of subtext. Before that, he appears as baritone soloist alongside soprano Annika Gerhards in Johannes Brahms’ Requiem at Stadttheater Gießen under the musical direction of Moritz Lauer.
