François-Xavier Roth and Calixto Bieito were the staging team for the production of Bernd Alois Zimmermann’s opera “Die Soldaten” in 2018 at the Cologne Opera. This justly famous production returns to the stage, or rather, stages, at the Cologne Philharmonic, the Paris Philharmonic, and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg; Austrian baritone Wolfgang Stefan Schwaiger has been invited to offer guest performances and can once again be experienced as Mary.
