Sophie Rennert with Handel’s “Agrippina” in Paris

In addition to many opera roles such as Angelina in “La Cenerentola,” Rosina in “Il barbiere di Siviglia,” Dorabella in “Così fan tutte,” Hänsel in Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel,” or Charlotte in “Werther,” mezzo-soprano Sophie Rennert also remains loyal to the Baroque repertoire. In Munich, she can be seen as Piacere in Handel’s “Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno” under Rubén Dubrovsky. Leading Baroque ensembles also regularly invite Ms. Rennert; this time, she performs with the Accademia Bizantina under Ottavio Dantone in the title role of George Frideric Handel’s “Agrippina” in Paris at the “a little different” concert hall « La Seine Musicale » a bit southwest of Paris, inaugurated in 2017 with a concert by Bob Dylan.
