Austrian mezzo-soprano Sophie Rennert has been invited back by the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra after her last-minute performance in Mendelssohn’s “Paulus” two years ago. This time, she will sing the mezzo-soprano part in Robert Schumann’s rarely performed opera, “Das Paradies und die Peri”, under the baton of Hartmut Haenchen. Shortly afterwards, she will begin rehearsals for the title role in Vivaldi’s “Juditha triumphans” at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music this summer.
