Last seen and heard as Fafner in Wagner’s “Rheingold”, with Kent Nagano at the rostrum of the Cologne Philharmonic, Christoph Seidl pivots towards Italian opera, bringing Simone in Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” to life at the Theater Philharmonie Essen. Roberto Rizzi Brignoli has undertaken the musical direction of this production staged by Roland Schwab.
