Maximilian Mayer in Kassel, as Tamino

Tenor Maximilian Mayer has been chosen to play Tamino at the Staatstheater Kassel; director Florian Lutz and Barbara Frazier are staging “participatory musical theatre”, loosely based on “The Magic Flute”, and are opening the interpretation of this most popular work in the world of opera to democratic votes by the public: Depending on the public’s decisions, the actions and future course of the work change.

Mr. Mayer also takes on the title rôle in the German version of “The Life of Brian” (“Das Leben des Brian”), based — of course! — on the glorious Monty-Python film of the same name.
