2023 already began quite well: Ilia Staple stepped in for an indisposed colleague at the Vienna State Opera as Adele in Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and left such a deep and abiding impression of her talent and skills that she is slated to join the Vienna State Opera ensemble, beginning with the 2024–25 season! And the current year started just as well, with another urgent call: And once again, Ilia Staple was on stage a few hours later, this time under the direction of Simone Young and alongside Camilla Nylund (Rosalinde) and Johannes Martin Kränzle (Eisenstein), portraying Adele!
