The part of Akhnaten, the sun king in Philip Glass’ eponymous opera, is becoming the signature role of Fabrice di Falco, the French countertenor from the Caribbean island of Martinique. Having premièred via live-stream in November 2020 (due to Covid-19 restrictions, of course), his November 2021 performances for live audiences were rewarded with enthusiastic applause and rave reviews. This January, he joins the independent opera company Ooppera Skaala for a production of Glass’ masterwork.
