With their production of Die Fledermaus at La Scala in Milan, Carolin Pienkos and Cornelius Obonya have established themselves as a successful directing duo. Following their staging of Verdi’s La traviata at Oper Burg Gars last summer, they are now turning to Baroque opera for the first time at Stadttheater Klagenfurt. They are directing Christoph Willibald Gluck’s reform opera Orfeo ed Euridice. Michael Hofstetter conducts.
