A directing team you wish for:
Carolin Pienkos, director and screenwriter, was hired by the Vienna Burgtheater after studying linguistics, literature and cultural studies in Bremen, where she assisted in particular Andrea Breth , while she began directing her own productions at the the casino and vestibule of the Burgtheater, at the Akademietheater, the Schauspielhaus and the StadtTheater Walfischgasse in Vienna. She received a nomination in the category “Special Prize” for the NESTROY Theater Prize.
Cornelius Obonya, a member of the great Austrian theater dynasty of the Hörbigers, has appeared as an actor on all the major stages in the German-speaking world, such as the Vienna Burgtheater and the Berlin Schaubühne. He appeared as Jedermann at the Salzburg Festival. He also enjoyed great success in Mel Brook’s Broadway musical The Producers at the Ronacher in Vienna and at the Admiralspalast in Berlin, as well as in film and television (“Tatort”) or with “Adults In The Room” directed by Costa Gavras at the Venice Film Festival). He has received several awards, including the O.E. Hasse Prize and the title of Kammerschauspieler.
As a team, they dedicate themselves to directing opera. Their credo is to tell the works entrusted to them as they are written, while at the same time finding their meaning to the present day.
