Georgian soprano Sophie Gordeladze, who recently sang in Mexico in Beethoven’s Ninth at the Festival de Mayo in Guadalajara and Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder in Acapulco, continues to showcase her immense repertoire with undiminished joy and enthusiasm: Before she returns to Malta in the fall to perform the title role in Verdi’s “Giovanna d’Arco”, she will sing the First Lady in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at the newly established opera festival at the Saarpolygon. The production is directed by Stefano Poda, with musical direction by Marcus Bosch.
