In Hanover, Philipp Kapeller Sings Musical, Too

In addition to his performances as Monostatos in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and later this season as Basilio in “Le nozze di Figaro”, Austrian tenor Philipp Kapeller will use his great acting skills and enormous versatility in the service of musical. In December’s world premiere of “Kasimir und Karoline”, a work that the Staatsoper Hannover commissioned Jherek Bischoff to write. The libretto by Martin G. Berger and Martin Mutschler is based on Ödön von Horváth’s play of the same name; Kapeller takes on the role of the tailor Schürzinger.
