Most recently, Wolfgang Stefan Schwaiger was celebrated by audiences and the press as Don Giovanni in a new production at the Flemish Opera in Ghent and Antwerp. He now returns to his home theatre, Oper Köln, in one of the great Mozart roles for baritone: as Conte Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. The musical director is Cologne’s General Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada; the production is directed by Katharina Thoma.
