Anton Legkii, a permanent member of the company at the Nationaltheater Mannheim since last season and, as of October, also a German citizen, is looking forward to conducting Humperdinck’s fairy-tale opera Hänsel und Gretel again this year. Wolfgang Blum’s 1970 production is part of the theatre’s identity and has been loved by generations of audiences in Mannheim.
