Austrian Baritone Wolfgang Resch, whose voice in the production of Pascal Dusapin’s Passion last autumn was compared by one critic to the young Neil Shicoff, is now truly venturing into the tenor repertoire. At the Festival Classionata Solothurn, he will portray Edwin in Emmerich Kálmán’s operetta The Csárdás Princess, the admirer of the title heroine Sylva Varescu, whom he is finally allowed to marry after long struggles with issues of class and social status.
