A key pillar of the ensemble at the Chemnitz Opera House, Austrian baritone Thomas Essl has already shone this season as Tonio in Pagliacci and in the title role of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Now he returns to the stage in the revival of Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, appearing in the villains’ roles.
