Mezzo-soprano Sophie Rennert, one of the great interpreters of Baroque and Early Music of our time, has embarked on a journey through Haydn’s Italian years with the Ensemble Il Giardinello under Bart van Reyn. She has not only recorded Händel’s “Dixit Dominus” for the Belgian label Passacaille but also the cantata “Il pianto di Maria,” previously attributed to Händel but now believed to have been composed by Giovanni Battista Ferrandini (1710-1791).
With the new chief conductor of the Gärtnerplatztheater, Rubén Dubrovsky, she will perform Mozart arias at the Festival Hohe Tauern at Schloss Mittersill.
