The Austrian bass-baritone Matthias Hoffmann ventures into new repertoire with the role of Kaspar in Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz in an interactive version of the opera for young audiences at the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden. Director Kai Anne Schuhmacher retells the story and invites the audience, along with musical director Elias Corrinth, to participate from the auditorium during select numbers. This gives children from eight years of age a truly special way to immerse themselves in the captivating world of opera. The production is a collaboration with the Bregenz Festival and will also be shown in Bregenz in March.
