Austrian baritone Wolfgang Resch is just as busy as Mr. Maqungo: Having returned from a series of New Year’s concerts in Scandinavia, he is currently engaged as Frédéric, the British officer in Leo Delibes’s “Lakmé” at the Landestheater Innsbruck, and he is already throwing himself into the rehearsals for “Die Geschichte von Valemon, dem Eisbärkönig”. In this opera for children by Susanns Felicitas Wolf and Elena Kats-Chernin, staged by Anna Katharina Bernreitner, Mr. Resch plays Valemon, King of the Polar Bears.
