Austrian coloratura soprano Ilia Staple may already be impatient to begin her first season as a member of the Vienna State Opera this fall; but beforehand she has been invited to the stage of the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl.
In this year’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen” — directed by Brigitte Fassbaender and conducted by Erik Nielsen — she sings Woglinde in “Das Rheingold”, Helmwige in “Die Walküre”, the Woodbird in “Siegfried”, and again Woglinde in “Die Götterdämmerung”.
