With dazzling coloratura and captivating acting, Ilia Staple impressed as Fiakermilli in Richard Strauss’s Arabella, performing alongside Camilla Nylund and Michael Volle under Christian Thielemann at Vienna State Opera. In May, she appears as the young shepherd in Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser on the same stage. This new production is directed by Lydia Steier with musical direction by Philippe Jordan.
