Tenor Philipp Kapeller is looking forward to his first major première at the Staatsoper Hannover, as Prinz Andreas Stephan in Paul Abraham’s “Märchen im Grand Hotel”. This mélange of operetta, waltz, tango, Charleston, and jazz was a huge success right from the 1934 world première in Vienna, a time when Abraham’s works already were verboten in Germany.
