Florian Spiess, Sir John Falstaff at the Werdenberger Schloss Festival

From Leipzig and Kassel, where he played in that rare jewel, Wagner’s “Die Feen”, and in the first French Grand Opéra, Auber’s “La muette de Portici”, Austrian bass Florian Spiess travels to Switzerland where he is spending the summer at the Festival Schloss Werdenberg.

This year the festival is staging Otto Nicolai’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, and Mr. Spiess will play Sir John Falstaff, the well-fed buffoon.
