Franco-Canadian mezzo-soprano Nora Sourouzian, soon also to be heard at Graz Opera as Giulietta in The Tales of Hoffmann, returns to the Maifestspiele Wiesbaden after appearing as a soloist in last year’s Verdi Requiem. In a song recital titled Extase – Wagner à la française, she explores Wagner’s influence on French composers such as Henri Duparc, Ernest Chausson and Claude Debussy, creating—together with pianist Adam Rogala—a chamber-music echo space for Tristan and Isolde.
