In her second season as an ensemble member of the Wiener Staatsoper, the Austrian coloratura soprano Ilia Staple is currently not only on stage as Esmeralda in Bedřich Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, but also as a Flowermaiden in this year’s run of Richard Wagner’s Parsifal, in the production by Kirill Serebrennikov under the musical direction of Axel Kober.
