Katleho Mokhoabane as Tamino in Wiesbaden

The South African tenor Katleho Mokhoabane won first prize at the 22nd Concours International de Chant Lyrique de Canari and first prize at the 3rd International UNISA National Voice Competition in South Africa this summer. He now opens the new season at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden as Tamino in the revival of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. The season also holds a number of major role debuts for him: in Wiesbaden he will sing Alfredo Germont in La traviata and Ferrando in Così fan tutte, and at the Vienna State Opera he will appear in the title role of the new production of La clemenza di Tito.
