Most recently, baritone was celebrated for his performance in a contemporary role: as “Lui” (= the Man) in Pascal Dusapin’s opera at the Neue Oper Wien. The review in Vienna’s Klassik Radio even remarked, “Wolfgang Resch sings with a voice reminiscent of the young Neil Shicoff.”
In November, he presents a different facet of his talent: With the Thomanerchor and the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, he will perform in the world-renowned St. Thomas Church under Thomaskantor Andreas Reize, singing the cantata Du Friedefürst, Herr Jesu Christ BWV 116 by Johann Sebastian Bach in the Saturday-motet.
