Wagner-Voices: Christoph Seidl in second place at Karlsruhe

In September, Christoph Seidl, the young Austrian bass, won second place at the “Wagner-Voices” contest in Karlsruhe. His interpretation of Daland’s aria from “The Flying Dutchman” and the speech of the Landgrave in “Tannhäuser” were perfectly compelling, and the jury, a panel of experts chaired by Alessandra Althoff-Pugliese, entirely agreed.

Back in his current home, the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, his next role will be that of Baculus in Lortzing’s “Wildschütz”.
