Sophie Rennert currently excels in Mannheim as Angelina in Rossini’s “La cenerentola” (on October 26th, for instance), but she also displays her chops as a lied interpreter of renown:
On October 3rd, in the Schubert hall at the Wiener Konzerthaus she will present lieder by Schönberg, Schubert and Debussy. On October 6th, at the grand opening of the House of Music in Innsbruck, she will act for the Early Music Festival and offer a Monteverdi piece, with accompaniment by Johannes Ötzbrugger on the theorbo. A lied recital with the Schubert-Ensemble (Sophie Rennert, Christiane Karg, Martin Mitterrutzner, and Günter Groissböck, with Gerold Huber at the piano) awaits on October 8th as part of the Schubertiade Hohenems.
On October 14th, back in Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Ms. Rennert will share the stage with coloratura soprano Daniela Fally and narrator Michael Niavarani for Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”; both shows (10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.) have Stefan Vladar directing the Wiener Kammerorchester.
