Thomas Essl in Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand

In March, the Austrian baritone Thomas Essl will mount the stage of the Chemnitz Opera as Dr. Falke in additional performances of Johann Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” and as Arthur de St. Barbe and Monsieur Juste in Bohuslav Martinů’s “Die Drei Wünsche oder Die Launen des Lebens”. Meanwhile, he is preparing the baritone part in Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony, the “Symphony of a Thousand”, which will be performed by the Robert Schumann Philharmonic together with the Jena Philharmonic under the baton of Simon Gaudenz.
