Siyabonga Maqungo, the lyric tenor who recently joined the ensemble of the Chemnitz opera, already enchanted his new audience with his Alfred in “Die Fledermaus” (“The Bat”) and hasn’t been idle since then: While he already prepares for Tamino’s part in “The Magic Flute”, he is also on stage as Froh in Wagner’s “Das Rheingold”.
