Premiere: Siyabonga Maqungo as Tamino in Chemnitz

With his success as Count Almaviva in Rossini’s “La cenerentola”, young South African Siyabonga Maqungo has earned another sprig for his laurels, but he is already preparing for his next major role: Tamino, a part that Mozart might have tailored to Maqungo and his voice—in a brand-new production at the Theater Chemnitz where he currently makes his home.
