Première: Anton Legkii conducts Tchaikowsky’s “Mazeppa” in Kaiserslautern

The young Russian conductor Anton Legkii has undertaken the rehearsals and musical direction of Tchaikovsky’s opera “Mazeppa” at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. Rooted in a text by Russian national poet Pushkin, the opera recounts a passionate love story whose background is – as volatile and controversial today as back then – a conflict between Russia und the Ukraine.
