At the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Siyabonga Maqungo sings Puccini

This June, South African tenor Siyabonga Maqungo mounts the stage of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden first as Trin in Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” (stage direction: Lydia Steyer), then, from June 18^th, as Pong in “Turandot” (with Philipp Stölzl directing and Zubin Mehta conducting), a part that he just recorded in Rome under the baton of Antonio Pappano for Warner Classics.
