Sophie Rennerts multi-faceted talent makes it look easy: Just a few days ago, at the Konzert Theater Bern, she received ovations for her interpretation of Lotario in Handel’s eponymous opera; now she makes lieder out of Mahlers “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” her own, offering them as part of John Neumeiers ballet soirée “All our Yesterdays” at the Hamburgische Staatsoper. Benjamin Appl voices the male parts while Markus Lehtinen is at the rostrum.
