In July and August, Southafrican tenor Siyabonga Maqungo takes a short trip from Berlin — he is a member of the ensemble at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden — to Bayreuth where he debuts as the Young Sailor in “Tristan und Isolde” under the baton of Cornelius Meister.
