Thomas Lichtenecker at the Volksoper Wien, at twice

Due to Covid-19, Benjamin Britten’s “Death in Venice” had to be postponed again and again. But David McVicar’s (staging) and Gerrit Prießnitz’s (musical direction) new production, a cooperation with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, is finally ready for us – with countertenor Thomas Lichtenecker as the Voice of Apollo.

Shortly afterwards Lichtenecker also reprises his role as castrato Caffarelli in Christian Kolonovits’s musical “Vivaldi – Die fünfte Jahreszeit”.
