Harry Kupfer returns to “his” home, to the Komische Oper Berlin—staging a new production of George Frederic Handel’s opera “Poros”, which tells us about worlds in collision as the expeditions of the British Crown reach the far-off shores of East India. In the end, however, Dominik Köninger’s Indian king Poros shows courage above and beyond and thus initiates the triumph of mutual love and respect.
