What do we say to people who find classical concerts simply boring? How can we convey the value of time spent listening—unplugged and undistracted? More and more people seek their salvation in spirituality from Eastern religions, in meditation, in “switching off”. Perhaps we can also show them that time in a concert hall—turning off mobile phones and laptops, the live experience shared with other people, immersing ourselves in the emotions the music conveys—can be an equally direct path to meditation. Along the way, we can gently set aside other thoughts as they arise and immerse ourselves fully in the here and now. In this way, every concert becomes a pure experience—one you emerge from with renewed energy.
