For many, Carl Orff\u2019s\u00a0\u201cCarmina Burana\u201d<\/a>, premiered in 1937, served and serve as an introduction to classical music. As a counterpart, writer Michael Korth and composer Gerald Wirth have taken Austria\u2019s medieval love songs out of obscurity: The \u201cCarmina Austriaca\u201d\u202f\u2014\u2009an awe-inspiring musical journey into medieval Austria\u202f\u2014\u2009will be premiered in Gars in their new version for percussion and two pianos.<\/p>\n

Soprano\u00a0Corina Koller<\/strong><\/a>, baritone\u00a0Wolfgang Resch<\/strong><\/a>, both well-known in Gars from the productions of \u201cCarmen\u201d and \u201cThe Magic Flute,\u201d and countertenor\u00a0Thomas Lichtenecker<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will perform as soloists.<\/p>\n
