In the summer of 2022, South African tenor\u00a0Siyabonga Maqungo<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0celebrated his debut at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus, that holy of holies for Wagner-fans, with a rousing success\u202f\u2014\u2009and was invited to return this year. Of course, he will portray not one but three roles at this year\u2019s\u00a0Bayreuth Festival<\/a>: Walther von der Vogelweide in\u00a0\u201cTannh\u00e4user\u201d<\/a>, the First Knight of the Grail in\u00a0\u201cParsifal\u201d<\/a>, and the Young Sailor in\u00a0\u201cTristan und Isolde\u201d<\/a>, reprising his role from last year.<\/p>\n
