German mezzo\u00a0Stefanie Ir\u00e1nyi<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and Helmut Deutsch, doyen of the lied pianists, have designed a programme with lieder by Franz Schubert, Alexander von Zemlinsky, Franz Schreker and Hans G\u00e1l, combining these with works by two composers who, in their respective eras, were pure avant-garde, progress incarnate: Franz Liszt, along with Richard Wagner among the most prominent members of the New German School, and Alban Berg, student of Arnold Schoenberg and an exponent of the Second Viennese School. The result will be presented at the\u00a0Linzer Brucknerhaus<\/a>\u00a0mid-December.<\/p>\n

For the New Year, Ms. Ir\u00e1ny has planned concerts with the M\u00fcnchner Symphoniker. Beethoven\u2019s\u00a0Symphony No. 9<\/a>\u00a0is, in our opinion, the epitome of an optimistic and hopeful look at our future!<\/p>\n
