Sophie Rennert<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0certainly is anything but idle. The mezzo-soprano has just recorded two albums, Ferrandini\u2019s \u201cIl Pianto di Maria\u201d and Vivaldi\u2019s \u201cSerenata A Tre\u201d and presented two lied recitals at the Schubertiade\u202f\u2014\u2009an evening of\u00a0quartets<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0solo recital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Next up are the\u00a0Salzburger Festspiele<\/strong>\u00a0and their production of\u00a0\u201cThe Magic Flute\u201d<\/a>, staged by Lydia Steier, in which Ms. Rennert will sing the part of the Second Lady under the musical direction of Joana Mallwitz.<\/p>\n

And because all this still is not enough, the mezzo-soprano returns to Innsbruck and its Early Music Festival in August: At the\u00a0Festwochen der Alten Musik<\/a>, with Claudio Osele conducting Le Musiche Nove, Sophie Rennert will present a varied programme with works by George Frideric Handel and others. A busy summer, indeed!<\/p>\n
