This June, South African tenor\u00a0Siyabonga Maqungo<\/a>\u00a0mounts the stage of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden first as Trin in Puccini\u2019s\u00a0\u201cLa Fanciulla del West\u201d<\/a>\u00a0(stage direction: Lydia Steyer), then, from June\u00a018th<\/sup>, as Pong in\u00a0\u201cTurandot\u201d<\/a>\u00a0(with Philipp St\u00f6lzl directing and Zubin Mehta conducting), a part that he just recorded in Rome under the baton of Antonio Pappano for Warner Classics.<\/p>\n
